On April 25, 2015 Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake. Many thousands died and many more thousands were left with out shelter. Thousands of homes were destroyed. Thousands of families had to move from their homes into temporary shelter. This picture and the one below were taken on April 26, 2016 a year after the earthquake. These pictures show part of a tent city located in Kathmandu. It is very large consisting of about 6 to 10 US city blocks. These families have been living in these temporary huts for over a year.
